Orbit In to the palm springs modern vibe, and leave your worries behind as you lounge in luxurious mid-century style. Breathtaking mountain views, poolside breakfast and cocktails, cruiser bikes and spa services - all served up at a small boutique hotel called the Orbit In, where vintage modernism meets the 21st century.

Whether you prefer the social atmosphere of the Oasis, with its intimate poolside bar & courtyard, or the peaceful seclusion of the Hideaway's expansive grounds, these bastions of hip sensibilities with their premier location, designer furnishings, fun amenities, and friendly staff will have you coming back for more!

Catalina Tikifest 2006 August 18, 19 & 20, 2006
Descano Beach Club, Catalina Island

Catalina Tikifest is a new event honoring island lifestyle and heritage. This event will be featuring several live “Tiki” bands, a full Hawaiian Luau and show (“Island's Embrace Luau Explosion”) by Westwind Productions. The show will consist of more than fifty Hawaiian and other Polynesian dancers choreographed to the music of Gregg de Castro and the Many Nations Band. Over the course of the three day event, there will be cultural workshops featuring artisans from all over the Pacific Rim, exhibitors displaying tiki related merchandise and three fully stocked bars, musicians, and ‘talent’ performers (magician, juggler, etc.).

Catalina Island is part of Los Angeles County. Located 22 miles off the California mainland, the island comprises 76 square miles and boasts 52 miles of spectacular coastline. The Descanso Beach Club is Avalon's only seaside bar and restaurant. Featuring an outdoor patio and bar set in a romantic cove, the Descanso Beach Club is the perfect site for a relaxing day at the beach; add a little music, a few tiki torches, and let yourself be swept away by Catalina's intoxicating island ambiance. Descanso Beach is also a great place to snorkel, kayak or swim in the crystal clear water.
