Widely planted throughout Italy and California, this immigrant to the Shenandoah Valley of California has rich blueberry flavors and hints of vanilla. For those of you who missed out on the "off the charts" 2003 Barbera, the 2004 is a truly worthy successor. This wine already shows incredible fruit and balance. The '04 Barbera is now in the tasting room barrels for you to sample for yourself. DO NOT MISS THIS TREAT Approximate bottling date: 2/01/06 Approximate release date: 3/01/06

V. SATTUI NAMED "WINERY OF THE YEAR" FOR SECOND TIME IN THREE YEARS!

Thursday July 13th, the California State Fair presented Daryl Sattui with the Golden Winery Award, recognizing V. Sattui Winery as THE TOP WINERY IN CALIFORNIA FOR 2006!


This award is presented annually to the winery which has the greatest number of wines winning the highest number of awards.

The top awards included eight wines selected "BEST OF CLASS," one wine voted "BEST OF REGION," and nine GOLD MEDAL winners, including one DOUBLE GOLD.

The California State Fair is the largest state wine competition in California. This year 651 wineries entered nearly 3,000 wines from around the state.

We have currently won 76 Gold Medals in the most prestigious tastings in the world - and many of the competitions haven't even taken place yet. We thought it couldn't get any better.
