Monterey is one of the most romantic places in the state with quaint B&B's and inns in Carmel and Pacific Grove. A local company called Romantic Room Designs can decorate your hotel room for a wedding anniversary, proposal, birthday or getaway. They can even build you a bonfire on Carmel Beach.

If you're interested in the rich array of natural life along the shores of the Monterey Bay, don't miss taking a "Safari Tour" boat ride of Elkhorn Slough. Departures daily, and it's recommended that you make a reservation. On my last boat we saw 94 otters!
